      • A Case Study of ReadyOn Cobot's Challenge in A8 Fillet Welding

        Makes Welding Easier!

        ——2025/11/12

      • The ReadyOn cobot welding team was invited by Wuxi Runhe Electromechanical to conduct a trial welding operation using their cobot welding unit to complete a high-current, deep-penetration A8 fillet weld as required by the client. This trial weld was a challenging one for ReadyOn. Although it did not achieve the expected results, it provided valuable practical experience for future technical optimization.

During the trial weld, the ReadyOn technical team strictly followed the client's requirements to adjust the equipment parameters and repeatedly tweaked the cobot arm to complete the A8 fillet weld. However, due to the characteristics of the welding process, the molten pool under high current and deep-penetration conditions flowed downwards due to gravity, resulting in a lower overall weld quality and slight undercut, failing to meet the client's requirements for weld finish. For the A8 fillet weld, which is the client's core requirement, the difficulty in controlling the molten pool has not yet been found, and the client did not accept the current weld finish.

      • Although this trial weld did not fully meet the client's expectations, the entire process provided the team with invaluable practical experience. Our technicians have gained a deep understanding of the process characteristics of high-current, deep-penetration fillet welding, clarified the influence of gravity on the flow of the molten pool, and developed targeted optimization strategies for parameter adaptation, welding torch posture adjustment, and dynamic control of the molten pool.

Our technical team will continue to experiment with new welding processes on-site. In the future, we will provide customers with higher-quality welding solutions using more mature technologies and more precise control.
